1928
October 1: Max Mangels Junior and Heinrich Kreutzberg found Mangels & Kreutzberg Ltda., in the city of São Paulo, and begin manufacturing galvanized buckets in a small factory in the Moóca district.
1938
Following the request of Ultragaz, Mangels & Kreutzberg begins manufacturing cylinders for liquid petroleum gas (LPG).
1949 to 1951
The sons of Max Mangels Junior assume management positions within the Company. Max Ernst heads up the technical and industrial areas, while his brother Peter takes responsibility for sales, administration, and finance. The P13 cylinder – capable of holding 13 kilograms of gas – is developed, and becomes a standard for LPG usage in Brazilian households.
1958
Mangels begins manufacturing steel wheels for automobiles.
1959 to 1961
The brothers Max Ernst Mangels and Peter Mangels, who represent the second generation of the founding family, assume the management of the Company.
1963
Mangels & Kreutzberg adopts the Mangels Industrial S/A name.
1966
Mangels acquires Bratal Ferro e Aço (Bratal Iron and Steel), a Steel Service Center, and enters the steel processing segment.
1968
Mangels inaugurates its new cold rolled steel plant in São Bernardo do Campo (SP).
1969
Mangels begins exports by shipping steel wheels to the United States.
1971
Mangels shares are traded on the São Paulo Stock Exchange.
1975
Mangels inaugurates its new LPG cylinder plant in Três Corações (MG).
1989
The Três Corações industrial facility begins manufacturing aluminum wheels.
1994
Mangels launches a modernization program at its manufacturing facilities: Steel, Wheels and Cylinders.
1998
Mangels begins production of aluminum wheels as original equipment.
2003
Mangels obtains Bovespa’s Level 1 Corporate Governance Classification.
2004
A five-year investment plan is approved and initiated to boost productivity and production capacity of the Steel and Wheel Divisions.
2005
The plants in Três Corações (MG) and São Bernardo do Campo (excluir vírgula aqui) (SP), are certified according to the ISO 14001 Environmental Management Standard.
2006
Mangels redefines its business strategy, focusing its investments in the Steel and Aluminum Wheel Divisions.
2007
Steel Division get a new Certification: OHSAS 18001 (Security and Health Managment)
2008
The investment plan for factory expansions and to its shareholders increased production capacity in the coming years is being implemented. Mangels is completing 80 years of growth, determination, perseverance, competitiveness, ethical management and social and environmental responsibility focused on serving its customers.
